Painting Enquiry

Born in 1944, June graduated with a first-class honours in Interior Design from Kingston College of Art and has gone on to have a successful career spanning over 30 years, which included designing of the interior of several 5 star hotels.

The content of her paintings has changed over the years, initially paintings of her immediate surroundings on the edge of Dartmoor, then followed by interiors and the human form. Her travels in Greece and other parts of Europe have inspired many past collections.

In recent years, June famously travelled the length of India between 2006 and 2018. She expertly captures the character and mood of the different people she sees, and the atmosphere of the places she visits. In a remarkable gesture of generosity June has donated her entire collection of Indian street scene paintings to St Judes ChildCare Centres, India.

Her favourite medium is pastel, often combined with gouache, but she works in many mediums depending on the subject in hand. Drawing remains an essential part of the initial painting process.

1977 Elected a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers (FCSD)
2005 Elected a Member of the Pastel Society
2005 Elected a Member of the South West Academy of Artists

June shows regularly at the Mall Galleries in London, and Sarah Samuels Fine Paintings in Chester is extremely pleased to be chosen by June to exhibit her paintings.
