Project Description
Rebecca Darbishire
Rebecca Darbishire was born in Cumbria in 1968.
The inspiration for her paintings comes from her profound love of nature and wildflowers which began in her childhood, in the surrounding hedgerows, fells, woodland and meadows.
Rebecca combines her fascination of colour, shape and the medicinal qualities of the flowers, together with old glass, jugs and vases with antique tablecloths, often heirlooms to create a sense of timeless beauty bridging the past and present.
She works alongside her father, Stephen J. Darbishire RBA, in their shared studio in the Cumbrian hills.
Rebecca has exhibited in the Marylebone Gallery, London.
Beckstones Art Gallery, Nr Penrith and is a member of the Lake Artists society.
Her work can be found in private collections around the world.
